John Hilbert is the Director of Government Relations for the Copper Development Association, advocating for the US copper industry in front of Congress and Federal & State agencies. A 27-year veteran of Washington D.C. and Capitol Hill, Hilbert's areas of focus include energy, environment, health & safety, defense and federal appropriations for the metals and materials industry. Hilbert began representing the copper industry in DC in 2003 and was instrumental in the creation of the CDA Government Affairs Committee (GAC) and the Copper Caucus. He has a BA in business from The Ohio State University and a JD from Washington & Lee University.

About the Speaker

Jonathan Barnes has amassed more than 30 years of experience as a commodity analyst researching the copper and wire and cable industries previously working for CRU, Wood Mackenzie, Roskill and as an independent consultant. Barnes is acknowledged as a subject matter expert on the world copper industry and has published research and analysis on behalf of the International Copper Association (ICA) and the International Wrought Copper Council (IWCC). He has presented at numerous conferences and events and has travelled widely to understand the industry and build an extensive network of industry contacts. Barnes is a major contributor to Project Blue's Copper Market Service and supports other company research on the renewables area.

Bernard "Bernie" Baumohl is the Chief Global Economist at The Economic Outlook Group, known for his accurate predictions of the U.S. and global economy. In 2019, the Wall Street Journal named him the top economic forecaster in a major survey. Baumohl has a diverse career, having worked as an analyst at the Council on Foreign Relations, an economist at European American Bank and an award-winning reporter for TIME magazine.

He is a sought-after speaker and frequently presents on economic and geopolitical trends at conferences and corporate events. Baumohl is also the author of The Secrets of Economic Indicators, now in its third edition, and frequently contributes to major media outlets like the New York Times, Washington Post, and NPR. A former lecturer at NYU and Duke University, Baumohl holds an M.A. in International Affairs and Economics from Columbia University.

Promote your business at the CBSCA Annual Convention! Company tabletop displays will be on view throughout breaks and meals during the Business Sessions, giving your company the perfect opportunity to make impressions at this premier industry event. Each company that would like to participate will be provided with one tabletop. Displaying companies are responsible for setting up and tearing down their own tabletop, as well as shipping or transporting any display materials to the hotel. Companies are welcome to include presentation/promotional materials such as laptops with demos, marketing collateral and giveaways (pens, cups, etc.) 

 

There is no fee to have a company tabletop display during the 2025 Annual Convention. Availability is limited and will be available on a first-come basis. 

 

CBSCA will provide:
