2021 CBSA Scholarship Recipients

CBSA member company employees, children of member company employees and students enrolled in an undergraduate industrial distribution degree program are eligible to apply for the CBSA scholarship.

The Copper and Brass Servicenter Association (CBSA) is pleased to award a 2021 CBSA Scholarship to the following students:

Franklin Brown Scholarship

Julia Bradford


The Copper & Brass Servicenter Association (CBSA) has awarded Colin Glick the R. Franklin Brown Scholarship for 2021, CBSA’s top award for outstanding academic achievement and extracurricular activities.

Julia is entering her freshman year of college at the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY, USA. She plans to major in chemical engineering. Among her many academic honors are being named to the Principle List her freshman, sophomore and junior years of high school. She was inducted into the National Honor Society, the Junior Beta Club and the Science Honor Society. In addition, she played on the varsity tennis team and was a member of the Environmental Concerns Committee.


2021 CBSA Scholarship Recipients

Alexandra Allers


Alexandra is entering her junior year of college at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI, USA, where she is majoring in social relations and policy. She aspires to become an attorney. She is a member of the Kappa Alpha Pi Pre-Law Fraternity, serves as the Council of Students with Disabilities Student Liaison for the Tower Guard Honors Organization and is a member of the Michigan State University Leader Dogs for the Blind Club.   



Alana Batson


Alana is entering her freshman year of college at the State University of New York Oneonta, where she plans to major in physical therapy and exercise science. She is a member of the National Honor Society, volunteered in her school’s international club, which allowed her to work with foreign exchange students and is a member of the art club. Alana played varsity basketball all four years of high school and also played soccer. 

Delia Fritch


Delia is entering her freshman year of college at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA, USA, where she plans to major in medical imaging. She aspires to be a radiation technologist in a hospital. In addition to being on the honor roll in high school, she was varsity cheerleading captain, treasurer of the Green Club and worked part time.  

Faith Guers

Faith is entering her sophomore year of college at Alvernia University in Reading, PA, USA, where she plans to major in occupational therapy. While in high school, she was inducted into the National Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society, was on the Dean’s List and was named Student of the Quarter. She was a javelin thrower for the track and field team, a thrower and relay runner for the winter track and field team, volunteered with Friends of Animals and was active in her church.   

Parker Kajfasz


Parker is entering his freshman year of college at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, USA. He plans to major in psychology and pursue a career as a psychiatrist. While in high school, he was the editor for the yearbook, played varsity basketball and worked part time.  


Lukas Laderkari

Lukas is entering his freshman year of college at Binghamton University in Binghamton, NY, USA. He is majoring in business administration with a focus on finance and attempting to get a dual major in computer science. He is a member of his school’s Finance Society. While in high school, he played soccer, participated in the Model UN and Model NYC programs and volunteered at the Saint Vincent DePaul Women’s Shelter. 

Lauren Linnebur



Lauren is entering her senior year at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, USA. She is majoring in art and design with plans to pursue a career in photojournalism. She is a member of the Michigan Marching Band, plays varsity tennis and is involved in Tau Beta Sigma. 

Ashley Master

Ashley is entering her freshman year of college at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, where she plans to major in pediatric nursing. She aspires to become a pediatric hematology/oncology nurse. She has served as treasurer and vice president for her high school’s American Sign Language Club, was involved in the school’s theater department and volunteered as an ambassador with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.  


Alyssa Morgan



Alyssa is entering her freshman year of college at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI. She plans to become a diagnostic medical sonographer. Alyssa is a member of the National Honor Society, is in the top 25 of her high school class and has received an award for the past three years for achieving a 3.5 or higher grade point average. She is president of her school’s steering committee, treasurer of the student council, secretary of the environmental club and co-captain of the varsity volleyball team.   

Reese Novess

Reese is entering her sophomore year at Jackson Community College. She spent the Spring 2021 semester at The American University in Rome. She is majoring in business administration and aspires to a career as a business attorney. She is active in the Future Farmers of America, a flutist in the concert band, an active participant in the business club and a photo assistant for the yearbook.  


Bethany Ruczyski

Bethany is entering her junior year of college at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI, where she is majoring in nursing. While in high school, she was on the all academic team, a member of the National Honor Society, on the Dean’s List and captain of the varsity soccer team. In college, she is the captain of the school’s volleyball team and works part time at MidMichigan Healthcare.

Laila Ruffin

Laila is entering her senior year of college at Pomona College in Claremont, CA, USA. She is majoring in public policy analysis and gender and women’s studies. Laila plans to continue with school, earn her Ph.D. and have a career in academia. She has received numerous awards for outstanding academic achievements, including the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship, a prestigious research fellowship awarded to underrepresented students. She is a member of Sigma Tau, volunteers with the Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County and is active in various student organizations at her college.  

Zachary Ruger



Zachary is entering his freshman year of college at Minnesota State University Mankato, where he plans to major in business. While in high school, he played basketball and participated in track and field. He also worked part time. 

Hope Rutkowski



Hope is entering her freshman year of college at Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon, WI, USA. She plans to major in biomedical science in preparation for a career as a physician’s assistant. She was on the honor roll throughout middle school and high school, and is a member of the National Honor Society. In high school she was the yearbook editor and photographer, played varsity field hockey and soccer and was active in her church youth group.

Christopher Sauvageot



Christopher is entering his sophomore year of college at Florida Atlantic University, where he is enrolled in an eight-year architecture program and aspires to own his own architecture firm in the future. In high school, he earned an International Baccalaureate diploma, played soccer and was a member of his school’s service group.

Delaney Smith



Delaney is entering her junior year of college at The University of Toledo in Toledo, OH, USA, where she is majoring in adolescent and young adult mathematics education. She aspires to be a high school math teacher. She received the All Academic Award in 2016-2019, was in the top 25 of her class in 2018-2019, was a Herb Scholar in 2019-2021 and was on the Dean’s list in the Spring and Fall semesters of 2020.   
 

Elizabeth Wieland



Elizabeth is entering her sophomore year of college at Lake Erie College in Painesville, OH, USA. She plans to major in equine therapeutic horsemanship and equine facility management in preparation for a career as a therapeutic riding instructor. She was on the highest honor roll all four years of high school, a member of the National Honor Society and a section leader in the marching/concert band. In college, she is involved in the student government and 4-H, as well as equestrian-related activities.
