CBSA member company employees, children of member company employees and students enrolled in an undergraduate industrial distribution degree program are eligible to apply for the CBSA scholarship.

R. Franklin Brown Jr. Scholarship

Colin Glick Named


The Copper & Brass Servicenter Association (CBSA) has awarded Colin Glick the R. Franklin Brown Scholarship for 2020, CBSA’s top award for outstanding academic achievement and extracurricular activities. Colin is the son of Brian Glick, an employee of Alro Steel. He was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on his academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Colin is entering his freshman year of college where he plans to major in finance. He aspires to have a career in business. Colin has been on the honor roll all four years of high school, was a member of the National Honor Society his junior and senior years and received an All Academic Award for varsity soccer and varsity golf all four years of high school. He’s captain of his soccer team and also served in student government and his school’s leadership club.


2020 CBSA Scholarship Recipients

Brandon Adams


Brandon is the son of Richard Adams, an employee of Revere Copper Products, Inc. He was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on his academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Brandon is entering his freshman year of college at the State University of New York Polytechnic Institute in Utica, NY, where he plans to major in civil engineering. A member of the National Honor Society, he also received numerous accolades for being a scholar athlete. Brandon played varsity football and varsity baseball in high school and was active in the Varsity Athletic Association. He has completed his school’s advanced pre-engineering program, which prepares students for careers in engineering while also teaching them how to be hard workers, problem solvers and leaders. 

Irma Avdic


Irma is the daughter of Mirza Avdic, an employee of Wieland Rolled Products North America. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Irma is entering her senior year at the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY, where she is majoring in chemistry and minoring in mathematics. She aspires to become an industrial chemist. In recognition of her high scholarship, she was a Dean's Scholar for four semesters (Fall 2017, Spring 2018, Fall 2018 and Fall 2019) and on the Dean's List for Spring 2019. In addition, she has been a Trustees' Scholar for the past six semesters.

Jordyn Bishop


Jordyn is the daughter of Don Bishop, an employee of Revere Copper Products, Inc. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Jordyn is entering her freshman year at SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, NY, where she plans to major in nursing. She aspires to become a registered nurse and work in a nursing home. Jordyn maintained a high grade point average while taking College Now and Advanced Placement classes. She’s on the honor roll and is ranked near the top of a very competitive class. In addition, Jordyn is co-captain of her school’s varsity field hockey team, plays varsity softball and belongs to the ecology club.

Griffin Casella

Griffin is the son of Michael Casella, an employee of KME America. He was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on his academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Griffin is entering his freshman year at the University of Notre Dame, where he plans to major in finance. He aspires to have a career as a financial analyst. Throughout high school, Griffin received a number of awards for outstanding academic work. He is a member of his school's chapter of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. Griffin was selected as an Illinois State Scholar in 2019. Last year he received an award for earning As in math all throughout high school, called the Silver Award in Mathematics. In addition, he was on the West Suburbs Gold All-Conference Academic Team for football and wrestling.

Jacob Casella


Jacob is the son of Michael Casella, an employee of KME America. He was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on his academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Jacob is entering his freshman year of college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he plans to major in marketing and business. He aspires to have a career as a marketing manager or in public relations. Jacob is a National Merit Commended Student, an honor given to those who score within the top 50,000 of 1.6 million PSAT test takers. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the National French Honor Society, and is a Distinguished Honors Graduate for maintaining a grade point average higher than 4.4/4.0 throughout his first seven semesters of high school. Jacob was the social media director and humor columnist for his school newspaper and received many accolades as part of the speech team, including being on the state championship team and a state finalist. In addition, he sings with a choir, performs in community theater and tutors other students in English.


Colton Davis

Colton is the son of Bradley Davis, an employee of Revere Copper Products, Inc. He was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on his academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Colton is entering his freshman year at Hilbert College in Hamburg, NY, where he plans to major in criminal justice. Ultimately, he’d like to be a police officer or a state trooper. During high school, Colton was the captain for the varsity soccer, basketball and baseball teams and has been a volunteer coach for kids. He’s taken a criminal justice program through the Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) of New York State, which gave him hands-on experience in his chosen field. 

Andrew DePasquale



Andrew is the son of Kelly DePasquale, an employee of Wieland Metal Services. He was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on his academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Andrew is entering his freshman year at Cairn University in Langhorne, PA, where he plans to major in graphic design. He aspires to be a graphic designer. Andrew has been on the high honor roll every year of high school. He received the Gold Key award, the highest honor, for the art he entered in the 2020 Scholastic Art & Writing Competition. He is captain of the archery team and received the Academic Archer award, a scholar athlete award. Andrew was the top male archer in the state of New Jersey for his grade every year of high school. In addition

Easton Jackson

Easton is the son of Dale Jackson, an employee of Materion Corporation. He was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on his academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Easton is deferring college for two years to be a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Upon returning, he plans to attend Southern Utah University and major in cybersecurity. He aspires to become a cybersecurity specialist. Easton has been on the honor roll all four years of high school and was named Sterling Scholar for Computer and Information Systems. Easton plays on the school soccer team and is a violin/cello player in the orchestra. In addition, he is the president of the Technology Student Association. 
Trinity Jopp-Parmentier



Trinity is the daughter of Troy Parmentier, an employee of Aurubis Buffalo Inc. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Trinity is entering her junior year at Niagara County Community College, where she majors in psychology. She aspires to become a social worker. Trinity participated in the Model United Nations, Students against Destructive Decisions and was vice president of her school’s Outdoor Awareness organization. She played lacrosse and soccer in high school.

Haley Key

Haley is the daughter of David Key, an employee of NGK Metals. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Haley is entering her freshman year at Tennessee Wesleyan University, where she plans to major in secondary math education. She aspires to become a high school math teacher. Haley has received numerous academic honors, including the Lion Award, three Science Olympiad medals (one gold and two silver), Logic Award, Lion’s List, Biology Award, “A” Honor Roll, Church History Bible Award, Spanish 2 Award, Chemistry Award, Commissioner’s Team Certificate for Academics and the Academic All-Star Certificate. In addition, she is vice president of her school’s National Honor Society. She acts in the school theater and plays varsity basketball and club volleyball.

Gage Kilborne

Gage is the son of Carl Kilborne, an employee of Revere Copper Products, Inc. He was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on his academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Gage is entering his freshman year of college where he plans to major in broadcast journalism. He aspires to be a sports broadcaster. Gage has received scholar athlete awards in cross-country and swimming, the Spanish II Academic Excellence Award and the Most Outstanding Effort Award in Journalism. He’s a senior leader on his high school swim team, senior captain of the cross-country team, participated on the track team and in the school drama club. Active in Boy Scouts, Gage is a senior patrol leader, Eagle Scout, junior assistant scoutmaster and he received the Heroism Medal for saving his mother’s life. On average, only 68 Scouts are given this prestigious award annually.

Lukas Ladekarl

Lukas is the son of Stefan Henne, an employee of Traxys North America. He was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on his academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Lukas is entering his freshman year at Binghampton University where he plans to major in finance and computer science. He aspires to a career in finance. During high school, Lukas played soccer, basketball and golf. He’s a member of the National Honor Society and has volunteered at the American Museum of Natural History After School program and at the New York Historical Society. 

Sebastian Lasher



Sebastian is the son of Scott Lasher, an employee of Aurubis Buffalo Inc. He was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on his academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Sebastian is entering his junior year at the State University of New York at Oswego, where he is majoring in wellness management. He aspires to be a corporate wellness director. Sebastian has been on the Dean’s list the past three semesters. He is on the Oswego State Swimming and Diving Team and had previously swum competitively in high school. He was president of his high school’s wind ensemble and was part of the stage crew for the high school theater.

Lezel Legados



Lezel is the daughter of Limuel Legados, an employee of Sequoia Brass and Copper. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Lezel is entering her senior year at the University of California, Los Angeles where she is a double major in education and global studies with a minor in global health. She aspires to work in the health systems management field. Lezel’s academic and professional achievements have enabled her to be eligible for a variety of competitive UCLA jobs and opportunities. She was selected by her professors to join two prestigious UCLA research labs. Due to her participation in these labs, she will work with professors and researchers to develop curriculum for a class that addresses public health in schools.

Isabella O'Donnell



Isabella is the daughter of Timothy O’Donnell, an employee of Aurubis Buffalo Inc. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Isabella is entering her sophomore year at Gannon University in Erie, PA, where she majors in nursing. She aspires to become a registered nurse and to continue her education by earning a master’s degree so she can be a nurse practitioner. Isabella has been recognized as a student athlete all four years of high school and is on the Dean’s list. She was a cheerleader throughout high school as well.

Reilly O'Shaughnessy



Reilly is the daughter of Ryan O’Shaughnessy, an employee of Revere Copper Products, Inc. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Reilly is entering her freshman year at Boston College, where she plans to major in accounting. She aspires to become a Certified Public Accountant. A member of the National Honor Society, Reilly has been on the high honor roll and honored as a student athlete. She received the Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award from the University of Rochester. While in high school, Reilly played on the varsity golf team, was a treasurer for the Future Business Leaders of America Club and served as class treasurer in the student government. 
 

Maheen Qureshi



Maheen is the daughter of Kashif Qureshi, an employee of Revere Copper Products, Inc. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Maheen is entering her freshman year at Binghamton University where she plans to major in biology. Her goal is to become a dentist. She is a member of the National Honor Society. Maheen has received several accolades in recognition of her community involvement, including the Zonta Club Award of Woman in Public Affairs and the Distinguished Youth Volunteer Award from the Oneida County. She was honored as the Whitesboro Optimist Club Student of the Month for her academic excellence and extra curricular activities, which included numerous leadership positions. She received awards in astronomy, thermodynamics and forensics in the Science Olympiad and was awarded first place in the Oneida County Envirothon in 2018 and 2019.

Kate Riley



Kate is the daughter of Brian Riley, an employee of KME America. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Kate is entering her freshman year at DePaul University in Chicago, IL, where she plans to major in communications. She aspires to become an attorney. A member of the National Honor Society, Kate has also received a distinguished social studies student award and an Advanced Placement scholar award. During high school, Kate was involved in various activities, including serving as vice president of the school’s debate team, online features editor for the school newspaper and she played volleyball. 

Hailey Roether



Hailey is the daughter of Steven Roether, an employee of Alro Steel. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Hailey is entering her freshman year at Charleston Southern University in Charleston, SC, where she plans to major in nursing. Hailey has received many awards for earning all As and she belongs to several honor societies. She also received an award her sophomore year for getting the highest score in her school on the American Math Exam. 

Paige Rohrbach



Paige is the daughter of John Stipa, an employee of Cambridge-Lee Industries, LLC. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Paige is entering her freshman year at Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA, where she plans to major in agriculture and extension education. She aspires to become an agriculture teacher or a wildlife educator. Paige has been on her school’s honor roll every semester and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is active in the Pennsylvania Future Farmers of America, which has awarded her the Keystone Degree and a silver medal in public speaking. Paige enjoys softball and archery.

Hannah Rotenberry



Hannah is the daughter of Cecil Ray Rotenberry, an employee of Revere Copper Products, Inc. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Hannah is a student at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY, where she majors in inclusive childhood education and English literature. She aspires to become a teacher. Hannah has been on the college Dean’s list the past two years. In high school, she was a designer for the school yearbook and served on the student government. She is also vice president of the Teacher Education Student Association. 

Adrianna Roth



Adrianna is the daughter of Charles Roth, an employee of Wieland Chase. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Adrianna is entering her freshman year at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. She aspires to be an attorney. Adrianna received the top student award in many of her high school classes, was co-president of the student council, vice president of the National Honor Society, vice president of the Foreign Language Club and on the leadership team for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Laila Ruffin



Laila is the daughter of Kelton Ruffin, an employee of Aurubis Buffalo Inc. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Laila is entering her junior year at Pomona College in Claremont, CA, where she is majoring in public policy analysis. She aspires to become a professor. Laila has received numerous accolades for her academic achievements, including:

  • 2017 – 2018 New Hampshire Youth Poet Laureate (She was the first full-term Youth Poet Laureate in the state’s history.)
  • 2018 Recipient of the BURGER KING McLAMORE℠ Foundation Scholarship
  • 2019 Recipient of the Copper & Brass Servicenter Association Scholarship
  • 2019 Recipient of the Pomona College Internship Program, Summer Experience (PCIP Summer Experience)
In addition, Laila has interned for City of Claremont Councilmember Jed Leano and has been a legal volunteer at Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County.

Jacob Salisbury



Jacob is the son of Sam Salisbury, an employee of Concast Metal Products Co. He was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on his academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Jacob is entering his freshman year at Lorain County Community College where he plans to major in psychology. He is a member of the National Honor Society. Jacob is in the Early College Program at his high school, which allows students to earn college credit and an Associate Degree. In addition, Jacob plays trumpet in the school marching band, jazz band and wind ensemble.  

Christopher Sauvageot



Christopher is the son of Christopher Jason Sauvageot, an employee of Alro Steel Corporation. He was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on his academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Christopher is entering his sophomore year at Florida Atlantic University where he is majoring in biological sciences. He aspires to a career in sports medicine. Christopher is an avid ultimate Frisbee player and volunteered with the Interact Service Club for three years while in high school.

Rachael Smith



Rachael is the daughter of Douglas Smith, an employee of Bunting Bearings, LLC. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Rachael is entering her freshman year at Capital University in Bexley, OH, where she plans to major in nursing. She aspires to become a nurse practitioner. Rachael has been recognized for her academic achievements with an award for maintaining a 3.5/4.0 grade point average or above all four years of school. She was accepted into the National Art Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society, and received recognition for being a member of both societies. Rachael recently took first place in a DECA competition for product/service management. In addition, she’s co-captain of her high school volleyball team, played Junior Olympic volleyball and has an NCAA commitment to play at Capital University. 

Autumn Waters



Autumn is the daughter of Jamie Waters, an employee of Wieland Copper Products. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Autumn is entering her freshman year at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, where she plans to major in business administration. She aspires to a career in human resources management. Autumn is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars and she has received multiple awards based on her grades. She was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Students, was a photographer for the yearbook club and has worked as a camp counselor.

Elizabeth Wieland



Elizabeth is the daughter of Caleb Wieland, an employee of Mueller Industries. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Elizabeth is entering her freshman year at Lake Erie College in Painesville, OH, where she plans to major in therapeutic horsemanship/equine entrepreneurship. She aspires to become a therapeutic riding instructor. Elizabeth has been on the highest honor roll all four years of high school, received a certificate of honor in precalculus her junior year and a certificate of honor in algebra II her sophomore year. She’s a member of the National Honor Society, chair of her school’s leadership team and served on the student council. She is also active in the 4-H and is captain of her local equestrian team. 

Olivia Wombacher



Olivia is the daughter of Chad Wombacher, an employee of KME America. She was selected to receive the CBSA Scholarship based on her academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Olivia is entering her freshman year at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where she plans to major in elementary education. She aspires to become a dual language teacher. Olivia has been on the high honor roll every year since middle school. She is a member of the National Honor Society, student council and world language club. In addition, Olivia is a varsity starter on her school’s lacrosse team.
