Scholarships: Build the Future
Each year, CBSA reinforces its commitment to its members and their employees by offering the CBSA Scholarship Program. Funded by donations from member-companies, CBSA awards multiple scholarships of varying amounts to deserving young men and women who have a parent employed by a servicenter or supplier member-company.
Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance and financial need. To be considered, the student must first meet the following criteria:
- Have at least one parent employed by a CBSA member-company
- Be pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited four-year college or university
- Be taking at least 6 credit hours in the upcoming year
- Be a freshman, sophomore or junior
- Have a college grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
The application form is now online. Only completed applications will be considered. A completed application consists of the following:
- Scholarship Application (pages 1-3)
- Financial Need Questionnaire (page 4 of the Scholarship Application)
- Publicity Release (page 5 of the Scholarship Application)
- College Transcript (college freshmen must also submit high school transcript)
- Two letters of recommendation. One from an educator and one from a past or present employer. (If you do not have work or intern experience, please submit two letters from educators.)
- 500-word (two-page) essay on the subject “Why I chose ___________ as my major.”
