Investment in membership in the Copper and Brass Servicenter Association is guaranteed to reap both tangible and intangible rewards and dividends. Furthermore, it is neither an expensive investment in terms of dollars, nor one requiring a great commitment of time on the part of the executives of either servicenter or brass mill members.

First and foremost, it is an investment in your industry.

Through affiliation a company’s personnel – at all levels from top management down – is accorded the opportunity of networking with their peers – through contact at the conventions, through work on CBSA’s committees, or via communications, educational programs, or exchanges of information.

CBSA also offers up to five annual scholarships to children of employees of CBSA’s servicenter or associate member companies. The scholarships are available to students of colleges and universities offering Industrial Distribution majors … benefiting both deserving students and the academic institutions, and also helping to channel outstanding personnel into employment within the metal servicenter industries.

Supplier – Distributor Relations

CBSA’s Supplier Relations Committee ensures that executives of our associate member brass mills and metal platers are provided opportunities not only to fully participate in the annual conventions, but also offer presentations there, and to our Board of Directors. It has a formal program of rotating visits to suppliers’ places of business for the purpose of constructive dialogues. The Supplier Achievement Award Program honors the suppliers by recognizing their accomplishments on an annual basis. Bilateral efforts are made to insure mill-distributor partnering to the greatest possible degree.

The “Source Directory … Guide to CBSA’s Brass Mill Members is published periodically and widely distributed. Management Reports The monthly Shipment Report provides not only data of that nature, but also analysis information of industry trends. CBSA also develops and publishes management studies of interest including those on sales and middle management compensation.

In addition, a monthly “Capsules” newsletter is published featuring Association and industry news, regulatory/legislative issues affecting the industry’s companies and information on what is transpiring within the members’ companies.

Educational Programs

A custom-designed Sales Training Home Study Course, based upon CBSA’s popular 300-plus page text, Guide for Marketing – Copper, Brass, Bronze, is available to members and non-members alike.

Under CBSA’s auspices, sales training seminars are offered, and valuable technical workshops are presented at the annual meetings.
